Prof. Joseph Dennis Ongeri

Prof. Joseph D. Ongeri, is currently an associate professor of Economics at Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA). Before joining CUEA, Professor Ongeri was a tenured associate professor of Economics at Spartanburg Methodist College in South Carolina, USA. He also taught online as an adjunct faculty member for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Strayer and Kaplan Universities, in the USA.
For a period of about ten years, Professor Ongeri, taught at Kenyatta University, before proceeding to the USA for further studies. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Adult Economic Education from Pennsylvania State University, USA; a Master of Science in Economics degree, from Purdue University, USA; a Master and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree, both from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Professor Ongeri has authored and published four academic articles in peer reviewed journals, four books, one of which is used as a textbook in many United States colleges, and several conference papers. He has also reviewed several papers submitted for publication, both in the Journal of Economic Education, and Intellectbase International Consortium Journals.
Besides putting concentrated efforts in academia, Professor Ongeri has in the past held positions in the Treasury of Kenya as an Economist, at Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI) as a research officer, and as a Financial Business Analyst for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA.
